About Plainly

Plainly is a guide to creative AI tools for people who are new to them. It started with someone who knew nothing about AI and had a blast learning.

How entries are made

Each entry is written from the maker’s own pages: pricing, terms, licence and documentation. Every fact on a page shows its source link, the date it was last checked, and how sure we are (checked on the maker’s page, page unclear, or inferred). Cost comparisons such as “one standard image” are Plainly’s own estimates and are labelled as such.

Independence

Nobody pays to be listed, and payment never changes what we say about a tool or where it appears. If Plainly ever shows a sponsored slot or earns from a link, it will be labelled right next to it.

Open, closed and in between

For AI assistants and developers

Every page is plain HTML with schema.org data built in, and AI crawlers are welcome. Start at llms.txt; the full catalogue as text is at llms-full.txt. A JSON API and an MCP server are on the way.
